WhipStaff Ranch and Rescue
Adoption Policies
General-

We do NOT adopt out surrendered rescue animals for breeding purposes or for
meat!  NO EXCEPTIONS!  All rescue animals are to be PETS ONLY.

All prospective adoptors must have an approved adoption application prior to adoption.

Owner Surrendered animals will be available for adoption immedietly after their vetting is complete.
Found animals will be held a minimum of 5 days to give an owner time to reclaim them, at which time
they will be vetted and offered for adoption.

Adoptions are on a first good home basis.  Once an application has been approved then the first
adoptor in line has the obligation to set up an appointment to visit the animal and make sure it is a good
match.  If so, they may take their pet home the same day.  We are not a boarding facility and cannot
board animals while they are waiting for adoptors to retrieve them.

We provide all medical, temperament and breed information we have.  On stray/found animals, breed
and age is a best estimate.  We cannot predict the future size of young animals nor can we predict with
100% accuracy the temperament an animal will have when mature.

We reserve the right to refuse adoption.

We reserve the right to perform a home check before an animal is placed, and an on-site
check up after the animal is placed to ensure it is getting along well with it's new family and
home.

Costs
-

Adoption costs are set based on many factors, not limited to species, breed, and time/medical needs
while the animal has been in our rescue.  Adoption costs are
non-negotiable and non-refundable.
Please choose your pet carefully.

Specific to Canine and Feline-

All dogs and cats adopted from our rescue must be surgically sterilized PRIOR TO ADOPTION!
This is a surgery which provides much medical benefit to your pet as well has helping to reduce the
population of unwanted animals in our area. We do NOT adopt out dogs or cats for breeding purposes.

Specific to Equines-

A letter from your equine veterinarian and farrier must be on file before adoption is finalized stating that
the conditions under which the equine will be living are safe and humane, and that any other equines on
the premisis are well cared for.
All stallions and colts, jacks and johns must be gelded to ensure
a safer companion and reduce the number of grade horses born each year.

Specific to Exotics and Small Animals-

We do not adopt out rescue animals for breeding purposes.

Policies to be amended at any time.
