WhipStaff Rescue Surrender Policies
Species we work with-

We work with any species of animal that we are legally able to possess by the State of Minnesota or the USDA.

Specific to Equines- Owner Surrenders-

We ask if you surrender a horse/donkey that we be given a current copy of the animal's Negative Coggins Paperwork.  They must also be up to date on
deworming and have their equine Influenza vaccination before setting hoof on our property. Any intact male equines over the age of 1 year MUST be
gelded before we will take them. This is done to ensure the health status of our current horses.

Specific to Small Animals and Pocket Pets-

We ask that if you are surrendering a small animal such as a rabbit or guinea pig you provide it's cage, bedding, food etc.  The eases the transition and the
supplies are sent to the pets new home.

Temperament Testing-

If after acceptance it is found that an animal possesses a temperament which makes it unsafe for adoption into an average family, the animal will be
humanely euthanized.
WE WILL NOT ACCEPT AN ANIMAL IF WE FEEL IT'S TEMPERAMENT IS UNSUITABLE FOR ADOPTION
OR IS DANGEROUS.

Surrender Fees-

We do not demand a set surrender fee as most shelters do.  If you are giving up your own pet, you will be asked to make sure the animal is
spayed/neutered before we will take it.  You will also be asked to provide the animals vaccination records, cages, crate, bedding, food and medications
that belong to the pet.  If you would like to make a monetary contribution to your pets care it is up to you, anything you can provide is greatly
appreciated.
We typically have a waiting list for animals waiting to come in.  Please contact us with your pet's particulars though as we may
have a person waiting to adopt just that kind of pet.  We will also be happy to list them on our website with your contact information.

If you have found a stray/abandoned animal, we do not ask a set monetary contribution.  We leave it up to you if you would like to make a donation to
assist with the animal that is wonderful.  Your contribution helps to vaccinate, groom, deworm, spay/neuter and feed the animal until a suitable home may
be found.

Data Privacy-
To protect the pet, we do not release any information regarding the new owner or the whereabouts of the animal to the past owners.
